Jazz, Low Light, and a Drink Worth the Wait
The Velvet Room is a 1920s-inspired cocktail lounge on Larkspur Avenue in Halden Falls. Forty seats. One long brass bar. A live band most nights. Step in from the street and the evening slows down.
What Waits Inside
Owner Celeste Marlowe opened the room in 2019 with one idea: a place that feels like a secret but treats you like a regular. Head bartender Theo Vance builds every drink by hand. Chef Dario Lund sends out small plates made for sharing. Music booker Ruby Okafor fills the stage with players who know how to work a quiet room.

This Season at the Bar
The fall menu runs through December. Start with the Harvest Moon: apple brandy, spiced pear, lemon, and a whisper of cinnamon. Or order the Gilded Hour, our signature, with rye, amaro, and smoked honey. Not drinking tonight? The Quiet Hour zero-proof gets the same care.
What Guests Say
The best Old Fashioned in town, and the trio on Thursday stole the night.
We booked the parlor for my sister's birthday. Every detail landed.
